Matsya Avatar is the first incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who took the form of a fish to save the world from destruction. According to Hindu mythology, when a great flood was about to destroy all living beings, Lord Vishnu appeared as Matsya to protect life and preserve the sacred knowledge (the Vedas).
In this story, King Manu found a small fish that asked for his protection. As Manu cared for it, the fish kept growing larger until it revealed its divine form as Lord Vishnu. Matsya warned Manu about the coming deluge and advised him to build a large boat. When the flood came, Manu tied the boat to Matsya’s horn, and the avatar safely guided it through the waters.
Matsya Avatar symbolizes protection, wisdom, and the preservation of life and knowledge. It teaches the importance of faith, duty, and divine guidance in times of crisis.
